Q. I just got a new AMD motherboard and Dual Core proccessor as well as 2 gb of DDR 2 RAM. After installing everything, I tried to install Windows XP onto the computer. It goes through the formatting and partitioning, however when it restarts to actually install XP, the computer just shuts off. Not reboot, it turns off completely. I was having this problem with my Toshiba laptop and it eventually went dead - but the laptop was known to run at high temperatures and overheat. Is it a legit copy of Windows? If not you may want to try a different image or a legit CD. If it's still occurring i'd see if there's a BIOS update.
