A. Hi, Sorry about the problem. I don't understand the question. Do you have windows XP? You should only need to plug it in and Windows XP should do the rest.

How do I correct the device manager entry that is on my computer?
Q. My HP 522n thinks I have a CD-Rom instead of a CD-RW. I found a note saying my disk Drive is a Samsung SV6003H but my device manager thinks I have a CD- ROM. (This note may refer to another computer, but I know my computer has a CD-RW!) Do I have to change the drive? Can I change it by going into Boot information? My software is Microsoft Windows XP. Any suggestions are welcome. It does not mean I will try this myself since I am not a programmer. I want to have an idea what the repair person may do.

A. I would first consider deleting the device from device manager and reboot the system. In many cases Windows will find and identify the device correctly. I don't think it's likely that you need to manually change any boot information (BIOS). If reboot doesn't work out, try manually installing the hardware in Windows Control Panel. Install the driver from CD if you have one, or download from the manufacturer's website.

How do I restore the wireless adapter in the device manager under the network adapters?
Q. I was using my laptop and the internet was fine. Then I go back on in a couple of hours and the internet was gone. I check the device manager and the wireless adapter's not there. Also, the wireless connection icon isn't in the network connections. It's been like that for a couple of days and I'm kinda scared. Also, it's happened before. I mean that the wireless connection would disappear, but it would come back though. Please help me and thank you.

A. Go to the website of the laptop's manufacturer and download the wireless adapter drivers, then install them.

What driver will get rid of the "missing parallel driver" in m device manager?
Q. I did a full reboot on my Dell Inspiron 8600. I have re-installed all of the drivers except for the parallel device driver apparently. I don t know what to download off the dell site solve this. In the device manager its labeled under "other devices" than "parallel device"
Asked by Jason E - Thu Mar 19 17:37:07 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The Dell drivers page for your laptop doesn't really mention a parallel driver but windows might not be reporting it correctly. You could try FixMyDriver.com and let it complete a system scan. It might give you a more accurate description of what device is missing a driver.

Why is there two Monitors listed in Device Manager in XP Pro?
Q. In my Device Manager, its listed as two Monitors, However I dont have two Monitors installed, I only have one Monitor installed. I tried to uninstall the First one, I rebooted, and its still there. I did the same thing to the other one, and its still there.. Oh and I dont even use a Video card or a Graphics card, I use the VGA Port.
Asked by RaffiTheMaster - Tue Dec 9 13:12:20 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. no video card?! maybe you mean you have a build-in video card, you've just mentioned the VGA port... if you see a two monitors installed, it just means that your video or graphic card is capable to use more than 1 monitor, this video card have a tv-out terminal, which means you have a primary monitor that is ENABLE and a secondary monitor which default value is DISABLE, that you can set it to ENABLE if you want to use other monitor like the TV.

There is a yellow exclamtion point next to PCI modem in device manager. My internet doesnt work. How do i fix it
Q. I have a sony desktop. My internet just stopped working. I uninstalled the PCI modem in my device manager. The modem is fine because i can still connect wirelessly with my laptop. I can't use the internet on my desktop so i can't go online and download anything. I'm trying to see if there is another way to fix it than to reboot my computer.
Asked by adotnguyen - Sat Jun 28 23:50:47 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You uninstalled the desktop internal modem. The wireless connection on your laptop is irrelevant. You need to reinstall the modem. In device manager, right-click on the computer name (the top line) and click on Scan for hardware changes. Then reinstall your modem. And consider staying out of device manager.

A. The driver that you get from the Nvidia website is going to be newer than anthing that Windows has in its inventory. I would always trust the Nvidia website, not Windows.

What does this symbol mean in device manager?
Q. My computer, which is a vista home basic, isn't reading any discs, even pc games. So i checked in device manager to see if there were any problems and i saw in the section on DVD/CD-ROM drives that there is an exclamation mark. I have no idea what that means since i barely know anything about computers. So can anyone tell me what it means, thanks! Uhh what if you don't have that..?
Asked by Evelyn - Thu May 20 21:15:51 2010 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments

A. It mean that the drivers for that particular device are not installed. You have to install the drivers for your disc drive. Use the CD/DVD which came along with your CD/DVD Drive.

Hard Disk does not show up in disk management but I can see it in Device Manager?
Q. Hi, I have 2 hard disks. I pressed "Delete partition" in disk management because I wanted to remove everything there (make it a clean disk) but now it does not show up in disk management anymore although I can see it in Device manager. I tried to do "rescan disks" in disk management but still - it does not show up there.
Asked by Joe - Sun May 18 03:11:00 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. In disk management does it list it in the bottom box? scroll down to see if theres a second drive listed there. Then you have to right-click and theres an option for activating the drive(or something that isn't listed for the drive you have working), then it should show regularly in disk management and "my computer" from there just format.
